Old Catholic Province of Our Lady of the Angels

On September 30, 2008, Bishop Vincent Quaresima was elected to the Patriarchal See of the Old Catholic Province of Our Lady of the Angels, becoming the first Patriarch since the Province was formed.

Prior to his election as Patriarch, His Grace also served as Bishop of the Diocese of the West. He was ordained and consecrated Bishop by The National Old Catholic Church.

His Grace was born August 31, 1948, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Anthony Quaresima and Anna Quaresima.  His Grace was baptized and confirmed at Saint Athanasius Catholic Church in Philadelphia.

His Grace was raised in a Roman Catholic home and went to Saint Athanasius Parish Elementary School through 1962 and attended LaSalle College High School with the Christian Brothers and graduated in 1966 (National Merit Scholar; National Honor Society).

His Grace attended Villanova University and was graduated in 1970 with a Bachelor of Science (Mathematics/Physics; minor Sacred Theology).

His Grace found his call to service God's children as an educator for 31 years. After retirement in 2001, he felt the call to service in Our Lord's One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church.

The Province of our Lady of the Angels is Sacramental. We believe in the historic Christian doctrines as found in the Nicene Creed, the Apostles Creed, the Athanasian Creed, and the Ecumenical Councils of the First Millennium. We observe the seven Sacraments and hold Apostolic Succession through a number of lines. We welcome all to our churches, fully committed to the mandate of Christ to preach the Gospel to all, and fully mindful of "that which you do to the least of My brethren, you do unto Me."

We believe the Eucharist, or Mass, is both a sacrifice and a meal. We believe in the real presence of Jesus, who died for our sins. As we receive Christ's Body and Blood, we also are nourished spiritually and brought closer to God.
